TypeScript Developer – Build tools for the engines that move the world
Help us unlock the full potential of the world’s most powerful engines - with code that’s used where it really matters.
You write TypeScript. Our users start engines the size of buildings.
This isn’t your typical frontend job. You’ll be building a high-impact tool used during live commissioning of massive marine engines, engines that power global shipping and define how much fuel is burned.
Your tool is the bridge between automation software and the people who fine-tune these giants at sea. You’re not here to pixel-push, you’re here to enable precision, safety, and performance.
This isn’t for designers of polished marketing sites - it’s for those who build tools that actually help people get the job done.
You will play an important role in:
- Developing and evolving our Engine Commissioning Tool in TypeScript and React.
- Shipping features to production continuously.
- Writing automated UI tests that catch bugs before they reach users.
- Translating technical needs into intuitive UX for mechanical engineers in the field.
- Collaborating with a team that combines software, simulation and real engine knowledge.
- Working across tech stacks including REST APIs, Jenkins and test automation tools like Selenium.
- Contributing to the general software tools landscape created in the department (mainly in Python)
A day in your new life:
You start with coffee and catch up with your colleagues – because we see the whole person, not just the engineer. Laughter is part of the deal.
Then a team sync where you get real feedback and honest input on your current challenge. After lunch, a session with real end-users: commissioning engineers in the field who help you understand how the tool fits into their world. The day ends with you dressed as a medieval knight – because today is the day of the yearly Tour de Chambre.
We imagine that you:
- Have solid experience with TypeScript, Python and React
- Care deeply about structure, clarity and maintainability.
- Enjoy turning messy, technical domains into elegant and understandable software.
- Want to work with real users and real-world complexity – but help create clarity, not chaos.
- Know your way around CI pipelines, REST APIs, and UI test frameworks.
- Have a thing for mechanics, automation, or visualising complex systems (reading P&ID diagrams is a plus).
Welcome to EDCD - Tools & HILS
As part of the TOOLS team in our Tools & HILS department at Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions), you’ll contribute to the development of tools, test rigs, and simulation technologies that support our engine control systems. You’ll be working with colleagues who are passionate about what they do – but never take themselves too seriously.
There’s always someone to help out – and we use our daily standups as much for tech as for teasing each other.
We value quality, collaboration, and psychological safety, and we’re not afraid to mix in fun, creativity, or the occasional burst of confetti. Transparency, openness to feedback, and shared learning are all part of our daily rhythm.
What can you expect from us:
At Everllence, you will join a development-oriented team and department where learning is an integrated part of the job.
We offer:

- Access to internal and external training courses in software engineering, automation, test design, stakeholder communication, and domain knowledge.
- Dedicated time for learning and development during working hours.
- Peer mentoring and support from senior engineers in the department.
- Opportunities to grow into broader roles – technical expert, domain lead, or architect – depending on your interests.
- Participation in cross-functional initiatives where you can shape our tools, methods, and technology stack.
