React Student Assistant

Is React your cup of tea? Join us to explore it further and build real-world applications

If you love transforming ideas into interactive applications and want to work to make an impact, you’re in the right place. Join our team building cutting-edge applications for engine control systems, all on top of a brand-new in-house framework.

Your first mission will be to create an example product showcasing how to use our framework with tutorials to guide other developers. And this is just the beginning, as we have plenty of projects in the pipeline, so there will be many opportunities to contribute and grow.

We’re not talking about another e-commerce site or dashboard. We’re using React in a human-machine interface (HMI) style, taking it far away from its typical commercial use to create intuitive, data-driven, a highly interactive control panels for complex engineering systems.

And here’s the best part: our journey it just beginning. We thrive on fresh perspectives, welcome every new idea, and give you the freedom to shape how our tools evolve. If you’re ready to explore uncharted territory with React, we’d love to have you on board.

You will play an important role in:

  • Create Product screens in React to showcase our framework’s capabilities
  • Implement and maintain the backend (NodeJs) that supports data flow and functionality for the React-based interfaces
  • Collaborate with experienced developers in planning and refining example products
  • Document processes and write clear guides to help internal customers understand and use the framework
  • Test UI components to ensure a smoother, intuitive user experience
  • Feel free to share your ideas and suggestions to help improve our tools and workflows.

A typical Day

Your day will start with a quick stand-up meeting where we share progress and plan next steps. Afterwards, you could be designing a React-based screen to visualize engine data or working on backend logic that feeds data into the interface. You might spend time writing tutorial content, creating step-by-step examples, or pairing with a mentor to review your code. Collaboration and learning are constant and some days you’ll explore innovative ways to enhance user interactions while other days you’ll troubleshoot a tricky integration.

Plus, we make time for coffee runs together, taking breaks to recharge and share some laughs.

We imagine that you:

  • Are enrolled in higher education and can commit to a regular work schedule that fits your availability. We offer flexible working hours and we will accommodate you during your exam periods when your studies require it.
  • Possess strong English communication and writing skills
  • Focus on delivering quality work
  • Approach your tasks with a structured and independent mindset.
  • Actively participate in the daily team routines and contribute to a positive work environment by sharing your thoughts, knowledge and experiences.

Welcome to EDAE – Edge Applications

Our department is responsible for designing and developing advanced tools for engine control and monitoring, used directly in the engine control rooms. We work with some of the largest two-stroke engines in the world, powering massive vessels where precise control and real-time monitoring are crucial.

Our work ensures engine operators have intuitive, reliable UI interfaces and powerful backend systems to manage these complex engines efficiently and safely.

Our tools are designed to be accessed seamlessly though touchscreen-based panels in the engine control room. These interactive displays allow operators to easily navigate through critical engine data, adjust settings, and respond to alerts.

While we are made up of different teams within the department, we pride ourselves on having a strong teamwork culture that fosters collaboration, open communication, and shared success.

What can you expect from us:

Joining our team means stepping into an environment that truly supports your growth and development, both professionally and personally. You’ll receive close mentorship from experienced engineers who are eager to share their knowledge and help you sharpen your skills in React and human-machine interfaces.

We prioritize a positive culture where your ideas and contributions matter. You’ll have the chance to take ownership of meaningful projects and see the impact of your work firsthand. This role will prepare you well for future career opportunities by exposing you to cutting-edge technologies and collaborative software development practices.
